This snarky diabolical little new wave / experimental pop record comes as somewhat of a surprise. Not a shred of the acid rock / free jazz of Phantascist nor the transcendental cosmic dream pop of last year's Prest can be found here...well, "Genuinely" might have fit nicely on here but still isn't nearly as intoxicating or cerebral as anything on this disc. Reverie's production values have noticably improved as well. Favorites include "Great Girls", melancholy instrumental "Marriage of Many Selves", and of course the beautiful 7 minute centerpiece "Thing About Passion".
